big day
Katherine turned 22 today! She feels old enough to be Erika's grandmother. In other exciting news, the element my family has been cooking on since the stovetop broke (before my parents came to visit me in Australia) burst into flame today. I wish I had had the presence of mind to take a picture while it was on fire. But I didn't, so I give you this picture, of the element sitting on the floor of the garage, smothered in baking soda:

Well, there seems to be a theme of fire in your pictures- the cake on fire in the first and the remains of the burner fire in the second. Next time, the burner on fire would fit the theme better! Keep trying!

Why didn't you tell me about the mini stove lightening on fire? Thats awesome, it must have been so cool. What are you going to do now? Tell mom and dad that my vote is for a fire pit to be put in the middle of the kitchen floor. Because hey-its already a hideous colour and filled with knife marks.

also - I think it must be kitchen-fire week. . . I destroyed something in the microwave --> black bellowing smoke ensued. Oops?
