we love the weather channel

My parents just got a cool new laptop. It has windows vista, which can have little squares along the side of the desktop showing the current weather in whatever city you choose. My dad had it set up so that it shows the weather in Kingston, Cold Lake, Melbourne, and Skipton (the town in England where Erika is going to spend the summer). Every day is now a competition between these 4 places to see who can have the best weather. Skipton is winning today at 21 degrees and sunny, Melbourne and Kingston are neck and neck at 14 degrees. Cold Lake is way behind at 2 degrees...sorry Chris and Jenn, you guys are the weather losers today.

Windows Vista has afflicted me this year as it's versions of the microsoft office save in different formats than previous years, bunging up our computer system at work.

    Cool weather wars though.

Hey Aphra, you can chose to always save the office files as previous versions. If you click the office logo in the top left, then click options I think it is... better that i just find a link:

(you will have to copy both bits of it into your browser (Internet Explorer) to get to the page.

James is very helpful like that. Sadly I think Melbourne will lose the weather wars for the next few months. Wait till January!!! Then we will have the last laugh! Muhahaha

My sisters have made up some silly rule that come January, the competition will be about which place is coldest. I wonder if I could make my dad's computer say that it is monitoring Melbourne's temperature, but actually show the temp in Antartica...
