your money belt is showing!
Hi everyone! Just a quick post to say I'm here and I'm alive. I have not seen a kangaroo yet, but I know a bunch of people who have. I have seen lots of beautiful tropical birds and what I think is kangaroo poop. I'll have to get that verified by a local. My jet lag is slowly sorting itself out, although I was up from 3-6 this morning. I've been sticking close to campus as there's only so much newness I can handle, but this afternoon I venture away for the first time to do some grocery shopping, and tomorrow I'm going downtown for an international students treasure hunt. There are oodles and oodles of international students. In my program, there are at least 6 other Canadians, all very nice, and all from Southern Ontario. One of them went to St. Lawrence and lived in Kingston last year. Well, I'd better be off to join a tour of the library. I'll add much more when I get my username and password and can use a computer that doesn't have a 15 min. time limit.

Nice to know you are alive and well, Joanna. We've been praying for your wellbeing. I spent the last couple of days sharpening your dad's chisels. He should be able to shave with them now.
Wow. Really? You met someone who was in Kingston last year? Small world, etc.

Get a sample of the kangaroo poop and test it in the lab!
Glad to hear from you!
I think that's 'roam'. Rome is the city.

Hey Jo...
I've been checking daily for an update from you :)
Suppose to be HOT here the next 4-5 days... 30 degrees plus :) Your parents were kind enough to leave us access to the pool while they are away. I am sure we will be taking great advantage of it:) Brandon has already asked if we can go today and it was a little after 9am at the time :)
Take care and we will be checking your blog regularly.

yes Lesely, kangaroos roam freely! I was just as shocked as you when I found that out. The first time I walked to school, I went down a street that had a "danger kangaroo crossing" sign and I thought it was a joke, but apparently not.
Have fun in the heat everyone. This morning it was the coldest its been here so far-I could see my breath.
