Torquay

It was going up to 43 degrees in Melbourne so Naomi and I went to Torquay together to spend the afternoon at the beach. (Naomi's back from her work in China and spent the last week staying with Hugh and I. It was great to have a friend around the house while Hugh was at work.) The beach was excellent-nowhere near as hot as Melbourne, calm enough waves to have fun in the water, and cool rocks and caves to explore.
My parents gave me a sewing machine for Christmas, and after lots of fiddling around to get each bit working properly, I finished my first project on it this evening. I've got pictures, but can't show you until the person who's gift it is receives it. It was an exciting accomplishment, and went much faster than knitting the gift would have!
