morning tea

Placement is going well. Tuesday was a PD Day, and I got to join the staff and other student teachers in learning how to make movies with webcams. It was lovely. It's a very warm school and the staff seem to all get along well. It was great having the PD day to get to know the staff a bit better-sometimes the hardest part of placement for me is being social in the staff room.
My class is full of lovely kids. Safety is the big topic for the term, and the fire fighters came today to talk about fire safety, and they'll be back next week with their fire trucks! It was great to see how excited the kids all got, and amazing how much they remembered when we discussed the visit later in the day.
The cold that I've been holding at bay for two weeks gained some new ground this morning.
Kate went home this weekend and picked some more mushrooms. Tonight we had toasted ciabatta with tomato chutney, egg, cheese, and grilled whole mushrooms. It was delicious and felt really gourmet.

You should ask if you can drive the fire truck, it'll be practice for when you get to drive my truck. That's pretty neat that you get to have some experience with deaf students. I just had a cold too, and it was horrible. Sooo, I bought new windshield wiper blades today and now I have to go to work Boooo. I love you, Kat
