worlds collide

Sorry about the delay!
So after my trip out West, James came to visit! I love forcing the different people I know to meet each other, so yeah, I was excited. Here we have a picture of James and Mianh, having lunch at Grass Creek Park, after a very boring visit to the McLaughlin Woodworking Museum (my apologies once again to both of you).
It already seems surreal that someone from Australia was here. It was great travelling to Pennsylvania and hanging out with the Dales, and then on to North East for the wedding of James' friend. Thanks so much for coming to visit James! And a huge thanks to everyone in Melbourne who sent me a little something with James, especially my Bible Study group-the Tim Tams were so good!
After dropping James off at the airport in Baltimore I slowly made my way home (making wrong turns a few times without James' navigation). I stopped in Lancaster County to enjoy some Amishness, and then went to a Renaissance Fair:
It was amazingly ridiculous and enjoyable at the same time. I joined in some folk dancing and tried to start a conversation with one of my partners, who was totally dressed up in period clothes. However, he would only answer in character, ie as a Renaissance era squire or something, and I just didn't know what to do with that.
I think that's the end of the updates!

It would take a lot of commitment on behalf of any one person to attend a renaissance festival more than once. I'm sure you had a good time, but unlike these people, you wont be busily stitching together your new costume ready for next year. I am such a cynic.

no, I probably won't be stitching my costume, but would I go again if it was on my way home from Baltimore? Yep.
