a big bird in a small cage

I woke up this morning with one of my eyes stuck shut. The day continued in that vein, most of it spent in one of those bad moods that I can't seem to get out of even if I want to.

I'm now armed with eye drops from Discount Chemist Warehouse and Hugh and I have enjoyed watching Grand Designs Revisited and The Dame Edna Treatment. Hugh is now rewatching Grand Designs with Andy while we wait for dinner.

After a few months of big changes at work, Hugh had a huge upheaval this week. I'm getting impatient for things to get easier. Why can't all jobs be as lovely and stress-free as mine? (but with more hours and more pay...)

I finally pulled the remnants of our accidental pumpkin plants from the garden today. There are still plants growing and flowers blooming from last spring when I just sprinkled a dozen random seed packets around the garden. There's one particular patch where three or four plants with flowers of different colors and sizes are growing in a clump that makes me particularly happy every time I see it. I'll show you a photo when our new camera arrives.
