Today I went to the first half of my first professional development. Well, except for the digital movie making PD day at my last placement. But that one doesn't count so much cause I didn't choose to go on my own.
So yeah, this weekend I'm attending a conference put on by the Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association for pre-school and primary school teachers. For those of you who won't have known by the name Orff Schulwerk, its about teaching and using music. Today I learned some great folk dances, some Finnish nonsense songs, and heaps of ideas for how to teach music. It's nice being there on my own for fun (unlike some of the teachers who were sent by their employers) because I get to attend whatever sessions I feel like without worrying about their applicability to my work.
