Sydney

Lyndall and I met up on Wednesday and went to the Tea Rooms in the Queen Victoria Building (fancy shopping centre) for high tea. See that white napking in my lap? The waiter put it there for me. There were two kinds of sugar in the sugar bowl (brown and white) so I had one of each. There were crustless sandwiches, giant scones, and a bunch of teensy pastries. The tea sets were Royal Albert, and when we were in a shop later selling some of the same stuff I was very relieved to have not broken anything!
Here's Lyndall and I in front of the huge flower arrangement that was behind our table. There were normal restaurant style tables, but I was glad we were put at a low table with fancy cushy chairs. It was a really lovely room with velvet wallpaper that managed to be beautiful without being stuffy and snobby. One of my favorite features were the tassels hanging from the light fixtures-I'll post a photo of that when I'm on my own computer.
This picture was taken this morning when Lyndall and I went for a walk with Peter. See how beautiful and sunshiney it was in Sydney? It was a gorgeous day there, but Melbourne is cold and grey as usual.

Clearly you are too classy for me now. Royal Albert?!

That's also a really nice top. Is it one of your 'colours'?

Aren't you glad I take lots of breaks from packing to do things like leave you comments?
