the parting glass
It's been a hectic week and a half, but I am almost ready to leave. My parents are taking me to Ottawa this afternoon to send me westward-first to Alberta to visit Chris and Jenn for the weekend, then onto Melbourne!
This leaving is very different from when I left for Australia 2 years ago. This time I'm going towards a fiance, a church family, and a certain amount of familiarity, but also not knowing when, if ever, I'll be back for good. It's easier and harder at the same time.
Kingston, I'll see you next June when Hugh and I return for our vow renewal :)

Safe travels, Joanna! I'm sad that timing ended up with you departing as I arrived, but even within a few quick meetings over the years, it is obvious to me that I'm missing out on a pretty special woman.
