The New

I moved! On Friday evening Mel (new housemate) and Stuart (Mel's boyfriend) filled their trunks with my stuff and moved me in with Mel and Kate. I'll put up some pictures of the house soon, but we don't have the internet, so it might be a few days between email/blog checks. Kat, who moved out to teach in France for 10 months, has left me most of her furniture and helpful things like a reading lamp and a radio/cd player/alarm clock to use until she gets back. What a blessing! I'm pretty much unpacked and very happy to be in a home where I don't have to share a bathroom or lock up my kitchen cupboard.
Friday night I watched Take the Lead with some women from church. Can you guys please not let me not sign up for dance classes in the new year? Thanks.
Sunday I went with Sam to the Royal Melbourne Show. Originally I think it was all about agriculture, but now along with the livestock stuff, there are also expensive rides and games. The highlights for me were all the free food samples in the food exhibition hall, and showbags-themed bags you buy. I bought a "Freddo & Friends" bag (Freddo being a Cadbury chocolate frog) that came with 10 or so chocolate bars, some window stickers, and a lunchbox.
Today was my first day of placement. It was a pretty relaxed day since it was the first day back after a two week holiday. Tomorrow I get to teach my first lesson. Its on handwriting, and thankfully its just revision and my supervisor pretty much told me what to do (which is good because we haven't looked at teaching handwriting yet in English Method). All the kids were really nice and accepting of having me in the classroom and I think they're going to be fun to get to know!

Cool. You're in the classroom. Look out boys and girls. She takes no prisoners.

Hey Joanna maybe you should teach the kids to swear. I bet they would appreciate that.

I don't think these children need to be taught how to swear...
